I don't have a link for this, but AppyAstros tweeted last night that Telvin Nash has been named the Greeneville Astros MVP of the season. I have to agree with that selection. Nash is third on the team in OPS only to Chris Wallace and Marcus Nidiffer, but they are no longer on the team and are in Tri-City. He is also third on the team in games played to Emilio King and Jonathan Merritt, but neither have put up the numbers that Nash has. I'm particularly high on him, mostly because of his ridiculous power potential. At age 19, to put up eleven home runs in a short-season is very impressive. Most people who put up those numbers in these league are college guys who have already filled out physically and are close to reaching the power potential. Nash has quite a few years until his power fully develops, so that gets me very excited. He has made leaps and bounds compared to last year and could also be considered one of the most improved position players in the organization. He strikes out a little much and doesn't hit for a high average, but for a guy with his power I'll take it!
