Astros Monday Minor League Recap

Congratulations to Erick Abreu for being named Pitcher of the Week for the Texas League.  Abreu spent some time in Round Rock earlier this season but has been back in Corpus Christi for awhile as a starter and has been pretty solid.  Although, he is 27 and not a prospect anymore.

Also, congratulations to Drew Locke for being named Offensive Player of the Week for the Pacific Coast League.  He absolutely mashed this past week by going 11 for 22 with five doubles and two home runs.  The stat that I like the most about the previous week is that he drew eight walks and struck out just once!  He doesn't walk a whole lot but he also keeps his strikeout rate below 20% which is a good thing.  He is old, but I like his power.  I'd love for him to be a 4th/5th OFer but we have Bourgeous and Bogey in front of him.
