Not a whole lot of games last night with Lancaster and Tri-City getting the night off and Greeneville getting rained out for Jordan Lyles second start at AAA. To be honest, it didn't go as planned. Once again he gave up the runs, except this time, he didn't have big strikeout numbers to give us hope. I'm not going to sit here and say "I told you so!" because I'm not expecting him to dominate AAA the way he did AA. But, I still think he would have been better served playing out the season AA. His command wasn't there last night, as illustrated by his five walks and is probably pressing a little bit trying to impress everyone since he is receiving so much hype and publicity since he got moved up to Round Rock. Trying harder can equal added stress on an arm that is already approaching his career inning mark. I'm not saying he's going to get injured, I'm just saying there is an added risk. I am confident that his clean mechanics will prevent any injury but I just don't think this is worth the risk. I just feel like this was a PR move to get people excited about the possibility of Lyles in 2010! Can you tell I'm still bitter? I'm better than I was because I know what I think has no value to the Astros at all and I can just hope for the best.
