When It Rains, It Pours: Paulino to the DL

Brian McTaggart is reporting that Felipe Paulino has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder tendinitis. Starter Josh Banks has been brought up from Round Rock to take his place on the 25-man roster. Banks was not on the 40-man roster, so someone will also need to be designated for assigment to make room on the roster. Banks will also start Saturday in Paulino's place.

Crap, crap crap...

This is bad news. Paulino has been one of the brighter spots of the rotation, so to lose him to injury a day after Manzella goes down with his own injury is disappointing. The only good news is that Bud Norris will be returning to the team on Monday.

What do you think? Has Paulino been tipping this off? Have you seen differences in his stuff lately? He's the third pitcher to go down with this "tendinitis" already this season. Should we be concerned about pitcher usage this season or is this leftovers of the Cecil Cooper era?
