I know I've been behind on the Comment of the Day and Leaderboard posts. Don't think I've forgotten about you, though. You readers and commenters of TCB are what make this site so special. I can write all day long but still would be shouting out in the wilderness without such excellent Astros fans. The discussion that you generate make us all strive to put out the highest quality content. So, let's look back on the best comments and most frequent commenters of the past two weeks:
My favorite comments:
Look at Hunter

Carlos' first hack indicates he wants to follow in Berkman's footsteps
The Crawfishboxes
A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
Berkman two-run homer!
We have an offense! Holy crap, we have an offense!
Cards announcers just talking about how competitive Carpenter is and its just his personality.
Albert Pujols+in play out(s)=
A good thing

Bud Norris Facts
Yogi Bera said “Its not over til its over,” then Bud Norris said “its over”
Bud Norris once charge the batter’s box
When called on to bunt, Bud Norris doesn’t need a bat, he uses his forearm
Bud Norris doesn’t use grips, he thinks where the ball goes, and the ball obliges.

Willie Mays started his career with the Giants going 0 for 21
Maybe Kevin Cash is the second coming of Willie Mays?
or maybe not

Heres a bold prediction from Astrofan
Lou Pinella is fired midseason and replaced on an interim basis for the season or doesn’t return after his contract expires this year. My prediction on his replacement….Bobby V. Haha I said it was bold

This should be a quick game
Probably. Which is good. I’d like a nap.

Lee looks svelte in comparison. I was noticing how much thinner and in shape he looks than Sandoval yesterday. I don’t know if the gray unis help his appearance, but Lee did look to be in better shape than last year.

And yet he is doing worse..
Maybe the fat was the source of his power

oh, that’s mean. 85 year old man ball guy without helmet…JD wonders why they don’t make him wear a helmet. “Maybe they figure he is playing with house money.”

It's insanely frustrating.
On some days we are bringing out a lineup with as many as 4 complete dead spots, and there is nobody to replace them with. Plus there are a few other positions that could be right at or a little below replacement level.

Call me crazy, but after you defeat a team isn’t the time to be doing ancestor rituals. Their pitching coach, Righetti (sp?) was one of the people who was soooooo upset that the Brewers did their bowling pin thing after a game was over. I say what’s good for one is good for the other.

Q is the Man Without Fear
He stood at home plate totally defenseless ready to get blasted by Manny Ramirez.
Fortunately Ramirez virtually stopped running and let Q tag him.

Another ball skipped by, another WP He is not adjusting properly to a small strike zone by the HP umpire, keeps setting up pitches too far outside or inside.
