Farmstros Five- Week 21

The Farmstros Five for the week of August 26- September 1, 2009:

Interestingly, all five pitchers in this week's Farmstros Five were acquired in ways other than the draft.

The Top Performer:

Chia-jen Lo, 23, RHP, Corpus Christi. Lo pitched seven scoreless innings in two relief appearances. He allowed four hits and struck out 10, picking up one save(Lo was signed out of Taiwan)

The other four:

Jose Cisnero, 23, RHP, Greeneville. Cisnero pitched six hitless innings in a start Friday with five strikeouts. However, it appears a first inning error has been changed to a hit, because his line now shows one hit allowed.(Cisnero was signed out of the Dominican Republic)

Kirk Clark, 21, RHP, Tri-City. Clark allowed no runs and two hits striking out 10 over three appearances(6 1/3 IP). (Clark was signed as an undrafted Free Agent this summer)

Henry Villar, 22, RHP, Lexington. Villar made three appearances with nine strikeouts, five hits and no runs allowed over 6 2/3 IP.(Villar was signed out of the Dominican Republic)

Mattt Nevarez, 22, RHP, Lexington. Nevarez made three scoreless appearances with no hits allowed. He had five strikeouts over four innings pitched. He has yet to allow a run since joining the organization.(Nevarez was acquired as a part of the Pudge Rodriguez trade)
