Felipe Paulino was being consideration at the outset of spring training for the fifth starter's position. He didn't perform well enough to make the big league club out of spring training, but the injury to Brian Moehler coupled with his own strong start to the season in Round Rock has hastened his call up. As DQ mentioned today in his radio interview with 97.5 The Ticket, Paulino threw his fastball consistently in the mid-90s in the start this past week. What was concerning, DQ noted, was that he was not able to control his off speed pitches well at all. Something to keep in mind as he faces a big league lineup for the first time in 2009.
