A brief introduction to the Farmstros Five... The Farmstros Five is a recap of five top performers in the Astros system in a given week. The "week" runs from Wednesday to Tuesday, because Tuesday night/Wednesday morning is the most convenient time for me to research all the stats and post the information. I tend to favor a player who is a "prospect" over a player who is a lifetime minor leaguer in the selection process. However, sometimes a performance can't be denied. For example, I think Richie Paz was honored two or three times last season with the Hooks.
The Farmtsros Five Top Performer for the week of 4/9-14:
Brad Dydalewicz, LHP, Lexington. Dydalewicz made his first start in full season baseball a memorable one. He no-hit ball for five innings and picked up one of the Legends four opening week wins.
The other Four...after the jump
Sergio Perez, RHP, Corpus Christi. Perez made two solid starts for the Hooks. He picked up two wins, allowing six hits and one earned run in 11 IP.
Felipe Paulino, RHP, Round Rock. Paulino struck out 12 in 12 innings over two starts this week. He allowed seven hits and one earned run. NOTE: Paulino along with Arias are the only Express starters on the 40-man roster. If Paulino continues to show he has overcome last season's arm problems, this may give him the edge for a call-up if Moehler has to go on the shelf.
Mark Saccomanno, 1B, Round Rock. Saccomanno only had six hits in 23 at bats. Yet, he made the most of them with one triple, two home runs, and 10 RBI including a walk-off single in Tuesday's game.
Daniel Meszaros, RHP, Lexington. Meszaros saved three of the Legends four victories. He pitched two scoreless innings and struck out four.
