Beyond the Boxscore's R.J. Anderson sorts some of the new stats at Fangraphs.com and Pence is tops among outfield arms and Tejada was third best at turning the double play. We had a discussion of the outfield arms ratings several weeks ago when the Hardball Times article appeared. I think it might be more fair to call the rating a measure of success at holding and throwing out runners, rather than pure "arm strength." I admit that I don't know how the double play rating is computed; I'll put that on my list of things to look into. Tejada hits into too many DPs; it's good to know that he can offset that with the ability to turn the DP.
