Nice outing by Roy Oswalt! Roy is finally back above .500 on the season after earning his 9th win this year and moving his record to 9-8. Roy pitched 7 full innings while walking just 2 and striking out 6 and allowing 1 earned run. It looked like the Astros could just mail this thing in until the 8th inning, Wright came in and gave up 2 quick runs to lower the Astros lead to 3... then in the 9th inning as Valverde came in and gave up a run with 2 outs and then brought the tying run to the plate after allowing a hit and a walk. Fortunately, he forced a line drive out to left field to end the game and give the Astros a 1-0 lead in the series.
The big guys sure came around tonight... Tejada, Berkman, and Lee were a combined 9-13, with 3 hits each. No home runs for Berkman tonight(oh well, I'll take a 3-5 night over a home run), but Pence picked up the long ball slack with a 3-run job in the 4th inning to put the Astros up 5-0.
Bourn on his 1st day back as a starter since hurting his ankle went 0-5... I guess I can be happy that he didn't strike out once.
