Astros signed Ray King to a minor league deal... he's a few years past his prime, but he has been a good pitcher for at least parts of his major league career. In his 10-year career, King has compiled a 20-23 record and a 3.86 ERA. He has had seven stints with Major League clubs, most notably his three years with Milwaukee. In 2004, King enjoyed arguably his best season, when he went 5-2 and posted a 2.61 ERA with the Cardinals.
King most recently pitched for the Nationals at the Major League level. Starting the season for Washington, King had a 5.68 ERA in 12 relief appearances before the team sent him down to the Minors, where he declared free agency on April 29. King signed a contract with the Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate on the White Sox, but was released on May 20.
