Super Bowl XLII

If you live in the United States, and you actually have a TV, Internet or leave your house... you know today is the end all be all of American Sports.  Well, at least in the majority of people's eyes.  Whether you are watching the game for the game, or watching the game for the commercials, you'll be part of the most watched American TV broadcast in the world.

Today's Super Bowl is between the 18-0 New England Patriots and the New York Giants.  The Patriots are favored by 12 points and expected by most to win this game and go on to be the first team to ever go 19-0 in a season.  The Patriots have already beaten the Giants twice this year; once in pre-season 27-20, and once in the regular season(the last regular season game)38-35;  both games actually pretty close...  I don't expect todays game to be that close.

I can't make myself go against the Pats...  I'm a Cowboys fan by nature(I'm a Texans fan as well, but all of those years w/out a Houston Football team enhanced my interest in the Cowboys), so I can't bring myself to root for the Giants.  I also kind of want to see a team go 19-0 and take the 72 Dolphins(who arrogantly still drink champagne when the last undefeated team of the season loses... HAH!  Not this year!  Well... probably not) off their high horse.

So that being said, I'm rooting for the Patriots(but not with much intensity).  I hope they win, but if they don't, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.  It will be more of a shoulder shrug and an "oh well".

I will go on the record and put my prediction... everyone else does it, so here goes mine.

Patriots 34, Giants 17.

Anyone else care to make a prediction?  Any big super bowl parties going on?  Anyone not watching the game?   Do you watch the game for the game or the commercials? I personally watch for both. I probably won't watch the half-time show though. Maybe I'm too young(27), but Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers just don't do it for me.
