Game Hero, 52-65 / 53-65

New, comments

Sorry for the delay in posting the game hero. As you know this is normally Rastro's deal and I kind of dropped the ball on it. So here's a 2-fer which I'm sure not all of you will agree with...

Game Hero 52-65(Sunday)
  • Eric Bruntlett
  • 1-1, 2 RBI
  • Drove in game winning run(s)

I know some of you are probably thinking, Eric Bruntlett? Why? Well, w/out his clutch 2 out hit in the 8th, the Astros would have went into extra innings. I wanted to pick Berkman, who's WPA was the highest on the team at .210, but him and Wiggy had basically the exact same stats(2 - 4, 1 RBI, 1R and a home run... so I would have felt bad giving it to Lance, and not Ty... I know, stupid reasoning, but that's my reasoning. So there it is, Eric earns his 2nd Game Hero award of the year in my first ever to give out.

Game Hero 53-65(Monday)
Roy Oswalt

How could I not give this one to Roy? His WPA was over twice as high as any other player, he went 8 full innings and only gave up 1 run earning his 5th straight win in as many games. Roy didn't give the Dodgers a chance in this game and made the 4 runs the Astros put up hold up easy. This makes Roy's 5th Game Hero award of the year, in the 2nd award that I've given out. This ties him with Carlos Lee and Biggio and puts him one behind "Wandilicious" for the team lead.
