Roy Oswalt VS Chad Billingsley
Roy Oswalt | Chad Billingsley |
12 - 6, 3.42 | 7 - 3, 3.34 |
Last time out Roy Oswalt went 6 innings earning his 4th consecutive win. In these last 4 starts, Roy has given up a total of 2 Earned runs and recorded 23 strike outs. It looks like Roy's July 14th outing against the Cubs lit a fire under his ass... on that dreary day, long long ago, Roy gave up 8 earned runs in 5 1/3 innings for his worst outing of the year.
Tonight Roy faces the slumping LA Dodgers who have lost 8 of their last 10 and only scored 19 runs. During these past 10 games, the Dodgers have been shut out 4 times(including a stretch of 3 straight games). Billingsley who has pitched really well lately(giving up just 6 runs in his last 3 outings) has endured 3 straight losses. His last win was on July 23rd against... yep, you guessed it... the Houston Astros, in which he went 9 full innings and gave up 2 runs.
Rant time... I really hate these late games. I can deal with an 8:00 PM start, but anything after 8:00 is just too freaking late. There's no reason they can't start the game at 6:10 PM to take some consideration for those who live in the Central(and even worse, Eastern) time zone. If Rastro was actually home right now, he'd have to wait up until 10:10 PM to see the opening pitch... MLB really needs to take into consideration those in other markets... /end rant.
