Sports radio shows in Houston can't stop talking about how the Astros are only 8 1/2 games behind the NL Central leading Brewers and how if the Astros sweep this series, they could only be 5 1/2 games behind the Brewers... My dad used to always say that if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his butt when he hopped. If is a huge word and it's unlikely that the surging Astros(as they are called, even though they are only 5-3 in the last 8 games) face the struggling Brewers who have been hurt by injuries lately.

I don't know what's going to happen, I just only hope that if some how the Astros do pull out of this pathetic season and make the last 1/3 of the season watchable and interesting(besides all of the Biggio giveaways), that the Astros management doesn't take that as reason to keep the same team next year. We need better players than we have now if we want to contend in the future. We have a good nucleus(Berkman, Lee, Oswalt, Pence), but we need to build on that... it would also be nice if we got to see if some of the players in the minors(namely Patton and Towles) are good enough to take some playing time next year.
