Kip Wells | Chris Sampson |
2 - 9, 6.20 | 4 - 5, 3.44 |
We join the game in progress, because rastronomicals was asleep at the switch. . .
[new!] Hey - Game's On - Where's Everybody I took a nap and slept through the first three innings. I see game's tied 2-2; and Easy Out Berkman has grounded to short two times in a row, not sure what else =has happened. Carlos Lee just got an assist throwing out Ludwick (who?) at second. Almost got a second assist at home on the next hitter but out brand spanking new catching, Munson, muffed it. Cards lead, 3-0 in the fourth. Let's see - Gameday says Biggio 1 for 2 with run scored; Hunter Pence 1 for 2; Easy Out Berkman 0 for 2; Lee )for 0 with a walk, coming to bat in the bottom of the fourth; Loretta ,Scott & Munson all 0 for 1; MY MAIN MAN ADAM EVERETT 1 FOR 1 WITH A SOLO HOMERUN; and Sampson 0 for 1. Sampson has given up 3 runs on five hits (including a homer by Edmonds) In the fourth Carlos Lee walks, only to be erased on a double play hit into by Mark Loretta. |

FOX game of the week No surprise here- It's the next-to-last place Yankees at Red Sox. But it started to rain; and FOX switched to Astros-Cardinals game. We find out David Eckstein is not playing today because of the hit on his elbow last night. Tony LaRussa last night won 500th game with Cardinals - second team he's done that with -- pretty special. We don't see much of the inning; but . . . . Spezio (I think)flies out to Luke Scott about a foot from the right field fence to end eth etop fo the fifth Back to Boston for rain update |

Hunter PencePence better hit, Easy Out Berkman up next.
We're reminded Hunter Pence's first hit with the Astros was grand slam homerun.
No homerun this time BUT
TWO RUN DOUBLE that landed right on the right field line.
Astros lead 4-3.
Astros looking good on national T.V.

It was torched.Hit to the deepest part of left-center, and you knew it was gone off the bat. He just missed one earlier, so I'm glad he got it this time.

Munson Lets his bat fly past first, whirlybuird style says Milo. Kip Wells must think "Safety First," and walks Munson. AT&T call-to-the Bullpen for the Cardinals |

MilesMark Loretta ties a major league record held by many by handling his third ground out of the inning. He needed that after his day at the plate.

Carlos LeeHOME RUN Astros 8-3
I guess this is an appropriate but awkward time to say Kelvin Jiminez started the inning pitching for Cardinals.
I like Carlos Lee. He makes me happy (most of the time)
