Joe Kennedy | Roy Oswalt |
2 - 4, 3.23 | 6 - 4, 3.38 |
Good news this evening is that the Astros are 1 - 0 this season against pitchers whose last name begins with "K," as Houston carved up Jon Koronka and his Texas Rangers for 6 runs back on May 19.
Kennedy himself is 1 - 2 against Houston, with a 4.79 ERA. His one National League complete game did come against the Astros. It was a loss though, as the Astros defeated Kennedy and his Rockies on October 1, 2004 meanwhile clinching that season's NL Wild Card.
El Kabong is the only starter who has homered off Kennedy, while Biggio actually owns high OPS among current Astros off the guy, with a 1.101. That's four hits including a double in nine atbats with a walk.
Oswalt is looking for his 105th career victory, as he has been since May 12. Perhaps it's the Ghost of Don Wilson who has thrown the jinx on Roy, as it is Wilson with whom Oswalt has been tied for sixth place these past five games on the Astros career victory charts.
Get over it, Ghost of Don, standings on career victory charts are made to be broken.
Lance has finally decided to drop his joke of an appeal and will not be playing tonight, despite the fact that, like Lee, he has a jack against Joe K.
