Amazing that ten Astros received a Game Hero award--and four of them twice--before Lance got his first.
But anyone who thought Berkman wouldn't come back, shame on you.
One of the game's best pure hitters, and its greatest switch-hitter, has served notice. The eye has been as finely tuned as it ever has been all season. He's been hitting for average for a couple weeks now. But only tonight did we know that the power stroke has returned.
All of a sudden, it seems like the next three weeks could be as good as the last three weeks were bad. Berkman's power stroke has returned, Luke's on fire, and Carlos Lee will continue to inhabit cleanup. Get Morgan going (and I get the feeling he's not far away, either), get Loretta some starts at short, and this team could win nine of ten, 13 of 15, something like that, maybe even get back into Milwaukee's vicinity.
