I Guess

this means we have to forgive him for the homer off Astacio.

So far, I've liked what I've seen from Wade, but it's kind of hard to get excited about the signing of Geoff Blum, beyond the slightly stirring idea in the fashion of Trever Miller, that of an alumnus returned.

But most people seem to think Mr. Blum is a third baseman.  I suppose a backup for Ty is a good thing, but it's hard to get excited about it.

But what I'm thinking is that Blum is their backup plan at second, and for that, you might as well give Burke the job.

Based on his recent history, and the fact that he'll be 35 this year, Blum looks like he might put up a 75 OPS+ in '08, and as we know, Burke can do that, and do it while being younger, too.

On the other hand, the only better-than-average major league season Blum has put up in his career was with the 2002 Astros, so maybe he revisits his past glories, though I doubt it.
