This is from two days ago, now, and Lord knows we don't need any extra A-Fraud talk, but I was absolutely flabbergasted to see Nate Silver handicap the Astros sixth in the A-Rod sweepstakes.
I don't really think the barrier is the money, as Drayton has shown with Kent and with Clemens that money can magically appear when circumstances warrant, and we can replace either our third baseman OR our shortstop with A-Rod very easily.
No, I think the problem would be the perceived morals gap. Simply put, I don't think Drayton would hire anybody as outfront sleazy as Rodriguez.
I had some more words comparing Rodriguez unfavorably to Roger Clemens, but they were going nowhere, so maybe any comments should simply be about the last paragraph.
