So yeah, like I was saying yesterday, Andy Pettitte's actually been our best pitcher this month.
Andy this August:
2 - 2, 2.15 ERA, 31 K, 5 BB
I don't know if it represents any kind of a pattern, though I was sure looking for one.
Andy in all Augusts as an Astro:
6 - 4, 2.27 ERA, 78 K, 18 BBHe had the 5 - 0 June last year with the 0.90, so if I was trying to say "Andy's been best in August," or something like that, it doesn't work. But he has been good during the eighth month, and he has been on a roll lately. So much so, that his earned run average hasn't been this low since April 24.
It's getting to the point where I can't even blame Mr. Pettitte for our lost season anymore.
Alright then.
Adam Dunn is for 6 for 18 off Andy with no homers but 5 doubles and 3 walks. Aurilia is 5 for 18 with a triple and two homers; and Arroyo of all people is 3 for 4 with a double and four RBIs. And that should remind you of one of Andy's more disappointing games of the year . . . .
