Game Hero, 48 - 53

Lance Berkman
  • 2 for 4, 2 runs, 4 RBI
  • Couple of jacks get him to fifth place in the NL
  • 4 ribeyes (mmm!) put him back in the NL lead with 92
  • OPS jumps to 1.020; he's the only NL player besides Pujols above 1.000 right now.

So, a six run fifth. You don't see that very often. The AP says it was the first time since May 28 that the Astros had come back from a four-run deficit. And that might could be because the fifth inning last night was the first time since May 28 that Brad Ausmus and Adam Everett started an inning by each getting on.

But anyway, the game was all about the fifth. Houston did almost nothing before the fifth, and did nothing afterward. It was kind of like the offense had crawled back into the hole whence it had emerged.

But why am I complaining? Nice win, although it's not like this morning I all of a sudden think we should trade Pence and Hirsh for Miguel Tejada.

Let's just celebrate the power of Lance. He's very very good.
