Game Hero, 9 - 4

Jason Lane
  • 2 for 4, 3 RBI, 2 runs
  • 3rd homer of the year
  • Sliding catch and throw in with Fielder on second in the eighth
  • Maybe we can stop worrying about Jason, now
  • Recracks the Mendoza Line, .369 OBP, .435 SLG

Don't think you could convince me that anyone's hotter at the plate right now than Berkman (who went 3 for 5), but Lane, in addition to the jack, had an all-around game in a way that loveable, goofy, STUPID Berkman did not.

Although he didn't look all that impressive in doing it, Biggio had the three hit game, as well. So maybe all the requisite worrying should be directed at the bullpen, which has appeared shaky early, middle, and late at different times this season. Certainly Lidge looked in control to finish things tonight, however.

Beautiful come from behind win, and who wants to see Taylor Buchholz pitch again?

Buchholz was reminding me of Darryl Kile in his first start there for a while. . . .
