Bagwell's rehab assignment - his first since a four-game stint with Jackson in 1995 when he had a fractured bone in his left hand - definitely created a buzz in the stadium. He received a rousing ovation before and after each at-bat, with fans booing San Antonio pitcher Rich Dorman after he walked Bagwell during the sixth inning. As you probably know, Jeff Bagwell began his rehab at Corpus Christi last night. The fact that he went 0 for 3 with a walk shouldn't matter so much as does the idea that he's started the process.
Is it perhaps reasonable to think Jeff might be able to give the big team some help in about ten days?
Our friend Greg Rajan at the Caller-Times has more on Bagwell's game last night here.
