Only twice in his previous ten games coming in had Clemens given up more than the six hits he gave up tonight, and only once (in the St. Louis loss) did he strike out fewer than the four he was able to notch against the Phils. But once again with the game on the line, and seemingly aware he was going to receive no further support, Clemens was able to hold the opposition at bay.
I sound like a broken record about the guy, but forgive me: he's so good, when he gives up a run, as he did in the first, you're shocked. And when he has a RISP with no outs, you still don't figure they're gonna score.
Looks like his son had a pretty good night too, going 3 for 5 with two runs, an RBI and two doubles in Greeneville's 11 - 9 loss to Kingsport
