Chacin
Rogér
Clemens
6 - 4, 3.04 4 - 3, 1.67

Disjointed notes to start off tonight:

Much tougher lefty tonight . . .but our guy's a little better, too.

The left hander Chacin supposedly throws this wicked change: I can already see the Biggio K's.

The last non-quality start the Astros had was Roger's against the Cardinals. Houston has nine homers over the last seven days, good for fifth in the league. . . their 122 total bases over that span is fourth in the league. . . .

Taveras is 7 for his last 12.

The Astros staff has also given up the third fewest homers over the last week with four. Only Washington and Florida have allowed fewer.

I guess you saw that Berkman has reached in 25 of his last 27 games . . .

Clemens was of course 41 - 13 with Toronto in 1997 and 1998, compiling a 2.32 ERA and winning the two Cy Youngs, but he is also 23 - 12 against the Blue Jays lifetime. He has 3.32 ERA against them, or exactly a run higher than what he did while with 'em.
