Houston Astros Split / Towles Hurt

Astros vs Braves : Win 7-4
Against the Braves today, the Astros split squad took at the Braves 7-4 behind the bat of Pence, and the legs fo Bourn. Pence went - 4 with 3 RBI's and a walk while born went 0-1, but drew 2 walks and stole to bases while scoring 1 run.

Rodriguez was pretty strong going 4 innings giving up 1 run, striking out 5 and walking 2.

Unfortunately during the game(while trying to reach on a possible infield hit[or error]), Towles strained his right hamstring and is consdered day to day. He doesn't think he'll miss more than 4-5 days with the injury.

Astros vs Nationals : Loss 12-10
In the other game of the day, the Astros put up 10 runs against the Nationals and still managed to lose. Paulino had a rough outing with just 3 innings pitched and giving up 4 earned runs.

Offense-wise, the Astros were pretty strong putting up 15 hits and 10 runs. Matsui was definitely the player of the game going 3 for 3 with 2 RBI's a walk and 3 runs scored. Ausmus was strong as well going 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored.

Up next, the Astros take on the Mets tomorrow at 1:10 ET sending Jack Cassel up against John Maine.
