Certain guys on these lists are forgiven, considering their other accomplishments in a Houston uniform; others, not so much.

Still, though it seems pretty apparent that we would have won if Jennings had been merely bad, this still wasn't a good outing for the bullpen, either, as it gave up 7 runs over 8 innings. Compare/contrast The Chris Burke Game for what a bullpen can do in an emergency.

Add a disastrous start by your starting pitcher to a poor outing from your 'pen, and you get another all-timer.

Speaking of Burke, that was quite a shot of his in the fourth. Raise your hands, how many of you thought we had a shot to win the thing, right there?

Me, too. The offense came up so big, it's almost impossible to give them enough credit. While the loss still sucks, there are actually good things to talk about as we head on the road, and in fact the offense gave one of its greatest ever showings in a loss, as well:

And we take one more thing from this game, also: there is now no doubt at all that the Three-for-One with Colorado was one very huge mistake.

It also means that we're less likely to trade Jennings. This outing might have driven his value down to the point where we're better off with the draft picks we'd get by letting him leave in free agency.

Meanwhile, in Colorado...
... Willy T went 2 for 5, with a run scored, an RBI and 2 SB.

Watching ESPN
Sunday game, Detroit vs. Anaheim.  Jeremy Bonderman failed to get through the 3d inning for Detroit, leaving after giving up 11 earned runs.  Well maybe Bonderman looks like Cy Young by comparison, because he made it into the 3d inning...but Detroit was able to turn the lineup over twice in a little over two innings.  This is painful for me because Jeremy Bonderman is on my fantasy team.  So is Brad Lidge...and he gave up 3 runs in less than 2 innings.  I doubt many people had Jennings on their fantasy team...but if they did...yikes!

Woops...
I should have said Anaheim was able to turn its lineup over twice...

Back from Europe...
and looks like I didn't miss much (yeah, a few wins) with today's shellacking by the Padres. Jennings is terrible!I can't believe how lopsided that trade is looking with each passing day.

Anyway, I'll be back following closely from now on.

P.S. If you ever go to Europe (or anywhere for that matter),keep a close eye on your luggage! My co-worker (team manager) and I each had a bag stolen right from under us in Barcelona, Spain in the HOTEL LOBBY! We were asking directions and were going to checkout at 8:30 am, turned  backs for like 20 sec. and poof! F%$#!!!!! (In my bag, my Nikon D80-DSRL, with my standard lens and zoom lens, along with my work laptop...In my team manager's bag, 2 cell phones, his laptop, passport and plane ticket!). Had to go to a police station to fill out a report. Team manager had to then fly to Madrid to get a new passport so he could leave the country. Anyway, just a warning....
