Nothing went right for the Astros in Oakland. It was only right that the four-game series ended with a 10-2 loss.
Oakland swept the Astros by outscoring 41-15 during the series. The Astros walked 25 batters over the four games and the bullpen gave up 29 runs over 12 2⁄3 innings.
The formula was the same. Starting pitching kept the game close over the first five innings. The Astros tied the game in the sixth inning with singles from Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, and Alex Bregman.
But the wheels fell off for Dallas Keuchel in the sixth inning. He walked four batters and hit Mark Canha with the bases loaded. The A’s took a 4-1 lead after the dust settled.
Ryon Healy extended the lead with a two-run home run off Francis Martes. Boog Powell and Matt Olson added two more two-run home run in the eighth inning.
J.D. Davis connected for his fourth home run of the season in the eighth.
