The baseball season hasn’t started yet and there is already fuel to the fire for The Lone Star Series.
Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor was at-bat for Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic Pool D tie-breaker game earlier this week. Odor ripped a line drive that was inches away from a home run and he pimped it with a bat flip thinking it was a home run.
Astros third baseman Alex Bregman was watching and felt the need to chime in.
As you can guess since the picture above isn’t a linked tweet that Bregman quickly deleted the comment. But Bregman’s message is clearly directed at Odor’s bat flip.
I can see where Bregman coming from. I do. He has shown himself as an all-business kind of player on the field and he expects the same “respect of the game” from everyone.
But frankly, I’m kind of tired of anyone attempting to cut down the amount of fun displayed on the baseball diamond. The World Baseball Classic has been a refreshing change of excitement and passion from the Latin teams.
Either way, the first Astros-Rangers can’t come soon enough. Let the next chapter of the Lone Star Series begin.
