Fresno Blanked 3-0 by Sacramento
David Paulino's second start in Triple-A was an improvement over his debut at the level. He wasn't very efficient since he threw 95 pitches in just five innings. A lot of that has to do with the fact he faced a lot of hitters (24). He gave up seven hits and walked two. The encouraging part is that he struck out eight. So, far he's shown he can make Triple-A hitters miss but he's given up a lot of contact.

Ferguson, Davis Homer in 7-0 Hooks Win
J.D. Davis homered in back to back games that has pushed his season total to 20. Drew Ferguson (six games in Double-A) hit his first home run. Ferguson has shown that he can hit at every level so far. His lowest batting average is .287 and that was last season (his draft year) at Quad Cities. He has also shown some power along the way with every stop except the one at QC which is the only one with an ISO under .200. He also drew walks at an 11% clip in TC as well as Lancaster. If he finishes the season with good numbers, he could push his way into top 30 status.

Lancaster falls 4-2
Elisier Hernandez has really struggled since his promotion to Lancaster. He went from a great 29.2 strikeout percentage to a terrible 16.1%. His walk rate more than doubled from 5.2% to 10.6%. His WHIP has ballooned from 1.158 to 1.855. His struggles continued with a five inning outing that saw him with a 3/3 BB/SO ratio and four earned runs. He's only 21 in a very offensive environment with a good track record.

QC Falls 2-1 In Pitcher's Duel
Both starting pitchers went seven innings and giving up just one run a piece. However, QC's starting pitcher, Enrique Chavez, was out dueled by Jordan Yamamoto as Chavez struck out only two and Yamamoto had 10. Nick Hernandez relieved Chavez and gave up a run in his second inning of work (9th inning). That would be all Wisconsin needed.

Tri-City Loses Tie in 9th, Fall 5-4
Heading to the ninth the ValleyCats were tied 3-3 but gave up two runs in the top half of the inning. They attempted a come back with one run but that would be it. It's tough to win games when you fail to hit anything but singles.

Guzman, Robles Dominate Greeneville's 4-0 Shutout
Jorge Guzman, a prospect who has recently started to get some short-season hype because of high-90's heat went five scoreless with seven strikeouts. To make it an even more impressive outing is that he only allowed two base runners via a walk and a lone hit. His game score was 73. Juan Robles made his Appy League debut as the tandem starter and went four innings and continued his solid performance from the GCL. He struck out four and didn't walk anyone. He allowed four hits. He's just 18.
