Would Astros fans want Yoenis Cespedes?

Hi I am a fellow baseball fan and a member of the New York Mets section, Amazin Avenue, and I was hoping to get an Astros fan’s opinion on something. Over at Amazin Avenue someone wrote a FanPost about some trades that the Mets should make if they become sellers and one of them was very intriguing. Please read the whole post and hear me out before reacting.

The trade is:

Astros Get: Yoenis Cespedes

Mets Get: Alex Bregman and Franklin Perez

Now that you have stopped screaming let me explain.

I know how valuable Alex Bregman is and I know the kind of talent he is so this trade looks very lopsided which is why i changed it to make it more fair. The Astros need a big power bat in order to make a run at the Texas Rangers and Cespedes is the perfect guy. In 83 games with the Mets Cespedes is a .295 hitter with 21 bombs and 52 RBIs. He is capable of carrying a team as shown last August and September when he hit 17 bombs in 57 games with the Mets. He is a middle of the order hitter than can protect Carlos Corerra and others in the Astros lineup. There is only one kicker, the contract. In the offseason Cespedes signed a three year deal worth $75M with an opt-out after the 2016 season. That is a large contract for a small market team like the Astros to take on. Yoenis Cespedes is a significant upgrade from Colby Rasmus and he would fit nicely with the Astros hitters especially newly signed Yulieski Gourriel who was Yoenis’ best friend in Cuba. I know what you are saying, that is all well and good but Bregman is gonna be a star. Well he is a projected star and Cespedes is a proven star who could propel the Astros to a World Series like he did the Mets last season.

With that said here is my trade that makes it a little bit more fair.

Astros Get: Yoenis Cespedes and $7M (If he opts in for the last two years it goes up to $12M)

Mets Get: Alex Bregman and Scott Feldman

That is my trade I welcome all comment I just ask you not be too harsh. I think this trade would benefit both parties and thank you for your time.
