Ext: Angel Stadium. Move inside to the visitor's clubhouse.
Astros executives sit in a conference room, looking through paperwork.
Astros exec 1: "Okay, who do we have next?"
Astros exec 2: "This one looks like a Brett Obe-, Obe-, Obe-going to the minors soon."
Astros exec 1: "Let's bring him in here and get this over with."
Door opens and Brett Oberholtzer walks in.
Astros exec 1: "Thanks for being here today, Brett. May I call you Brett?"
Obie: "Sure. Glad to be here today."
Astros exec 2: "Well, I don't know if you've heard, but we're efficiency consultants and we're here to, sort of, check out how the team is run."
Astros exec 1: "Why don't you tell us what you did tonight?"
Obie: "My main job is to get people out. I think that I did that pretty well tonight. Up until the fourth inning, I was able to keep the Angels off balance. I struck out four, which is pretty good. And, after the fourth inning, I kept them down. So, overall, it was an okay outing, but I'm not happy with it."
Astros exec 2: "Mmhmm, I see. Is this a common occurrence? I see you gave up some runs the last time you were here from our regional offices in Oklahoma City."
Obie: "I could have been better. But, at least I wasn't as bad as the beginning of the season, when I didn't win a game for like six weeks."
Astros exec 1: "Mmhmm."
Astros exec 2: "Mmmhmm."
Obie: Clears throat. "It's not like I got much support from my teammates. Jose Atluve did his thing, but he always does that. A 3-for-5 night with a double is pretty much standard for that little dude. George Springer stole a base, Jason Castro went 2-for-4 and looked better hitting in the two-spot.
"But, those guys just let me down. They couldn't score enough runs. I needed a little support tonight."
Astros exec 1: "Do you feel this way a lot? That the team could be doing more for you?"
Obie: "No. I mean, yes. I don't know. At times, it seems like they don't score any runs for me. Other times, I think that's all in my head. Either way, I didn't give my team the best chance to win tonight, even if I saved the bullpen."
Astros exec 1: "Well, thank you for your time Brett. We'll let you know what we decide. Why don't you head back to our regional offices in Oklahoma City until you hear more from us?
Obie: "Thanks for your time, gentlemen."
Obie optioned out, Fields activated
