AAA Oklahoma City RedHawks: 2-0 loss to Nashville (MIL)
-> Matthew Duffy: 2-for-4
-> Max Stassi: 1-for-3
-> Preston Tucker: 1-for-4
-> Ronald Torreyes: 1-for-4
-> Austin Wates: 0-for-3, BB
SP Thomas Shirley: 6.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 3 BB, 4 K (loss)
RP Richard Rodriguez: 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 BB, 4 K
A much better effort for Shirley in his third game since being promoted. He had coughed up 11 earned runs in 12.1 innings (8.03 ERA) in his first two AAA games. The sharp control hasn't translated yet, as he's walked nine in 18.1 innings (4.42 BB/9).
Duffy is hitting .355/.429/.581 in his last ten games. He's fallen off in July but still been decent. June was his big month, as he batted .279/.330/.593 with seven long balls.
Tucker is slashing .316/.366/.579 over his last ten games with two homers and four doubles, though both homers and half the doubles came in his big game on the 13; since then, he's managed just six singles and two doubles.
AA Corpus Christi Hooks: 6-3 win over Midland (OAK)
-> Telvin Nash: 2-for-3, BB, HR, R, 2 RBI
-> Ruben Sosa: 2-for-3, 2B, RBI, 2 R
-> Andrew Aplin: 1-for-1, SB, RBI, 2 BB
-> Delino DeShields: 1-for-4, RBI, R
-> Jonathan Meyer: 1-for-4
-> Tony Kemp: 0-for-2, BB, R
-> Carlos Perdomo: 0-for-2, BB, R
SP Mike Hauschild: 7.0 IP, 3 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 8 K (win)
RP Mitchell Lambson: 0.2 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K (hold)
RP Tyson Perez: 1.1 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 BB, 1 K (save)
Nash is hitting .333/.474/.767 in his last ten games, with a double, four homers and seven walks. His ten strike outs are...actually reasonable, especially for him. What do you guys think? He's 23 years old. Trade him now while he might have some value? Believe that it might be real and see if he can keep it up?
3.68 ERA, 4.50 BB/9 and 8.95 K/9 for Hauschild over his last five outings. He hasn't been great since being promoted, but he's making solid progress. His peripherals have stayed essentially just as good as they were in the California League despite moving up in competition level.
A+ Lancaster JetHawks: 7-5 loss to Stockton (OAK)
-> Rio Ruiz: 2-for-3, BB, RBI, 2 R
-> Chan Moon: 2-for-5, SB, 2 R
-> Tyler White: 1-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI
-> Teoscar Hernandez: 1-for-4, 2B
-> Roberto Pena: 1-for-4, 2B, R
-> Jon Kemmer: 1-for-4, RBI
-> Danry Vasquez: 1-for-4
-> Jack Mayfield: 0-for-3, BB
SP Lance McCullers: 4.0 IP, 4 ER, 6 H, 4 BB, 7 K (loss)
RP Kyle Westwood: 4.0 IP, 3 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, 1 K
Ruiz has four two-hit games out of his last ten, and he has an .851 OPS over that span. He has walk and strike out rates of 13.5% and 16.0% on the season, respectively.
Bit of a clunker for McCullers here. His control has been an issue recently; he's walked 10 batters in his last three games, 10.2 innings total (8.44 BB/9). The fact that his command and control are both so shaky, the fact that he's hard to hit and misses so many bats, and yet still gives up runs like he does, makes me believe that his mechanics really are problematic and he misses his spots a lot. That's not to say he should be relegated to the pen already or that he can't and won't get better, but just that he's definitely not making the kind of speedy progress that guys like Ruiz and Hader seem to be.
Moon is hitting .311 over his last ten games.
A- Quad Cities River Bandits: 5-2 loss to Dayton (CIN)
-> Marc Wik: 3-for-4, 2B, R
-> Chase McDonald: 1-for-3, BB, 2B
-> Brett Booth: 1-for-3, BB, R
-> Brett Phillips: 1-for-4, BB, SB
-> Dayne Parker: 1-for-4, RBI
-> J.D. Davis: 1-for-5
-> Jake Rodriguez: 0-for-2, 2 BB
-> James Ramsay: 0-for-4, BB
-> Ronnie Mitchell: 0-for-4, BB
SP Chris Cotton: 4.0 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 0 BB, 3 K
RP Michael Feliz: 0.2 IP, 5 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 0 K (loss)
RP Frederick Tiburcio: 3.1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K
The wheels fell off for Feliz tonight. It was pretty ugly; he got a fly out initially...then double, double, walk, single, single, double, and then he got the hook. I guess it's a testament to how good he's been that his season numbers didn't take a bigger hit from this. He sits at a 3.44 ERA, 3.72 BB/9 and 10.61 K/9 in 65.1 innings.
McDonald could finally be breaking out; he's hitting .364/.488/.818 with three doubles and for taters in his last ten games. He's also struck out just four times during that run.
SS Tri-City ValleyCats: 9-7 win over Staten Island (NYY)

SP Brandon McNitt: 3.0 IP, 5 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 1 K
RP Jeffrey Gause: 1.0 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 K
RP Raul Rivera: 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 BB, 0 K (win)
RP Austin Chrismon: 1.2 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 BB, 1 K (hold)
RP Jordan Mills: 1.1 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 0 BB, 1 K (hold)
RP Ryan Thompson: 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K (save)
A.J. Reed has picked right up from where he left off after the minor injury and/or awards ceremony. He's put together a three-game hitting streak, and he's batting .343/.410/.629 with four doubles and a pair of dingers in his last ten games.
Gause hadn't pitched since July 1, so it's nice to see him back out there after ostensibly being banged up in some way.
Ovando has hit .360 over his last eight games.
RK Greeneville Astros: 9-4 win over Bristol (PIT)

RP Krishawn Holley: 1.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K
International signee Barrios is looking good. He spent 2011 in the DSL, and 2012-2013 in the GCL. With Greeneville this season, he's made seven appearances, and owns a 3.14 ERA, 2.20 BB/9 and 6.28 K/9.
Nottingham's second long-ball of the year; more will come as he continues to translate his raw power into game power. He's hitting .278/.317/.500 in his last ten games.
Martin is hitting .333/.429/.472 with five doubles in his last ten games. He has six walks and just two strike outs in his last ten games. On the season, in 31 games, he has a 14.6% walk rate and a 13.2% strike out rate. Anthony Boyer is driving the Jason Martin Fanwagon. I call shotgun. Who's coming with us!?
DSL Astros Blue: Off Day?
It's well after midnight and they still don't have a box up for Friday. I guess that means they didn't play.
