This is why we can't have nice things; Houston, you always break them. George Springer has sat a game or two multiple times this season to rest nagging knee and quad injuries. The Astros feel he needs some more time this time around. Springer hasn't played since Saturday and he can be added retroactivly to the disabled list to mend his lingering quad and knee injures.
Springer has been a sparkplug for the Astros' season, even gracing the cover of Sport Illustrated. (The SI curse is real) He has 20 home runs and 56 RBIs with the Astros this season.
Marc Krauss replaces Springer on the roster. Krauss started the season on the opening day roster, and posted a .173 average with four homers and 13 RBIs in 39 games before being sent down to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Krauss hit .289 with 17 extra-base hits and 36 RBIs in 42 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Krauss will see some time in the corner outfield postions. Enrique Hernandez will contiue his tour in center field with Dexter Fowler and Alex Presley both out.
