Preview

It's Jon Singleton's world, we're just living in it. Wait, I said that about George Springer a little while ago. I guess they can run some kind of diarchy until Carlos Correa arrives. Singleton became the second rookie this season to record a home run for his first major league hit, joining the Cardinals' Oscar Taveras. Singleton went 1-for-3 with a walk, two strikeouts, and two RBIs to go with the home run. What will he do tonight when the glow of boyhood dream and adrenaline wears off (if it does)?

Garrett Richards, who is hoping the fourth time's the charm, the Angels haven't won in their last three turns with Richards on the mound. That includes a start on May 19 against the Astros in Anaheim, he gave up five runs on ten hits over seven innings. Richards is hoping to rebound from another five-run outing in his most recent start. In Oakland on May 30, he failed to record the third out in the first - allowing five runs on five hits and three walks. The has walked seven over his 14.2 innings. Being the road may just be the thing for Richards, he has 2.50 ERA on away compared to 5.33 at home.

This is the third time, the Angel's righty has face the Astros this season. He picked up a win his first outing, going five inning and allowing one run to pick up the win.

As I've said all season long; Jarred Cosart has the stuff to beat any team, the only question is whether he can control it. The his currently sixth in the American League with 30 walks. The Astros offense has supported Cosart well, as he has kept the Astros in the game to win his previous three of his last four starts. Cosart held the Royals to one run and five hits over five inning in his most recent start on May 28. This will be the second time he faced the Angels, he was touched up for five runs over six innings on April 7 - matching his season-high in walks with four.

Mike Trout will be out of the lineup with a back problem and has had an MRI to check it out. At least the Angels have Josh Hamilton, who extended his hitting streak at Minute Maid Park to 12 games with his solo home run last night.
