The rules are simple, determine which player you want to advance to the next round and then vote. Vote subjectively, objectively, using your trusty magic eight ball or any other set of criteria. It's totally up to you how you want to vote! Votes for this round will last exactly 24 hours.
In this match-up
4 - Jesus Guzman
Jesus Guzman’s stats don’t jump out at you. A .226 BA, 9 HRs, and only a .297 OBP. But you have to realize, he was stuck at probably the worst park for a hitter to play in last year at San Diego. His away stats are much better, with all 9 HRs coming on the road and a huge jump in BA and OBP. Additionally, his stats against lefties are much higher than his against righties. He will definitely be a good platoon player, and possibly the everyday first baseman. -Alex
vs
13 - Josh Fields
One of the many relievers vying for a chance to the the coveted closer of the Houston Astros! It may not be an illustrious title this season, but it still signifies some importance in an a pen that looks to be vastly improved. He has some of the best stuff of all the relievers that helped him rack up a 9.5 K/9 last season. But, with that comes a 4.3 BB/9 to make him exactly what people expected going into the 2012 Rule Five draft. He doesn't carry the stipulations anymore, so his 25 man roster spot is a little easier to lose this season. -Brooks
