TCB's Astros Fan Favorite March Madness Tournament is underway. From now until the end of Spring Training 64 players will spend the next several weeks facing off in a head to head public vote to determine who advances to the next round and who will eventually be crowned the communities favorite Astros player. For more details check out the tournament introductory post.
The rules are simple, determine which player you want to advance to the next round and then vote. Vote subjectively, objectively, using your trusty magic eight ball or any other set of criteria. It's totally up to you how you want to vote! Votes for this round will last exactly 24 hours.
In this match-up
7 - Michael Feliz
Despite a young career, the story is long with Feliz. When you've had a contract voided, your story is always longer. But, he's found his way into the Astros system with a true breakout year in 2013 where he dominated the New York-Penn League with plus velocity and dirty slider. He also showed an ability to control his stuff. But, don't be fooled, there is still plenty to work on in terms of command. He'll surely be in the rotation for Quad Cities this season. Look for him to continue to make the scouting world buzz. -Brooks
vs
10 - Chia-Jen Lo
Lo made his MLB debut in 2013, and it was a long time coming for him. Signed out of Taiwain in 2008, Lo has been hampered by injury after injury for years, managing just 143 total innings pitched over the last five minor league seasons (or 28 and two-thirds innings per year). Lo only got 19.1 innings in The Show after his promotion, and he was less than stellar thanks to an ugly number of walks, so he'll be looking to turn heads in Spring Training to try and land a bullpen job when Houston breaks camp. -Ashitaka
