Preview

The Astros honored the retiring Andy Pettitte before the game last night, now Pettitte takes the mound in his final start. Outside of a playoff run, making the start in Houston feels like the proper ending for the Deer Park native. Pettitte who has pitched 18 years in the majors, spent three seasons in Houston. He will forever go down in Houston sports history as a key member in the Astros' first trip to the World Series.

Since the All-Star break, Pettitte has been a steady hand in the Yankee rotation - with a record of 3-5 and a 3.23 ERA. Pettitte was the tough-luck loser in his final start in New York on August 22, giving up 2 runs over seven innings against the Giants. The Astros faced Pettitte in their previous series against the Yankees back in April, Houston knocked the left-hander out of the game after 4.1 innings with seven runs. Jose Altuve, Brandon Barnes, and Carlos Corporan each had double off Pettitte in that game.

Making the start for the Astros is Paul Clemens, he hoping to make a lasting impression before the offseason. He has a recored of 0-2 with a 4.22 ERA and a 1.59 WHIP as a starter. In his most recent outing, Clemens lasted only 4.2 innings and gave up four runs. Only Eduardo Nunez has a previous hit in his career against Clemens, a double.

Even if the Astros can't break their losing streak today, at the very least they can deny Yankee fans cheap pizza. #NoPizzaForYou
