MLB Scores: Indians 9, Astros 2

Swag. - Jason Miller

Erik Bedard started the game well, but it didn't last too long. Houston did have a 2-0 lead in this one before surrendering nine in a row to lose their ninth in a row. How fitting.

Nine in a row have not gone the Astros way after another long day at the ballpark Sunday afternoon. I wonder if Astros fans are counting down the days until the 2014 season yet.

Erik Bedard's first 11 batters on Sunday (three innings): one hit, one walk and five strikeouts.

Erik Bedard's last 15 batters on Sunday (two innings, plus being pulled before getting an out in the sixth inning): seven hits, six runs, one walk and three strikeouts.

It may be a case where Bedard is getting used to being a starter again, as he looked good early in his last outing as well before letting it get out of hand. Or the Indians are a good team, and Bedard is an average pitcher.

Bedard allowed three in the fourth, none in the fifth and then one in the sixth before being pulled. But the Astros lefty still was responsible two more runs that came across when Michael Bourn tripled off Houston reliever Philip Humber.

The four-run sixth inning made it 7-2 Indians, before Cleveland would add one in the seventh and eighth innings. Humber would finish by pitching two innings and allowing two runs on four hits.

Luckily for Astros fans, there was another Trogdor sighting! Chris Carter absolutely clobbered a Corey Kluber offering down the left field line to give Houston a 1-0 lead in the second inning. The Astros would add another with the lovely run-scoring double play ball. Thanks, Trevor Crowe, now you're a true part of this team.

The Astros didn't have any problem getting guys on base Sunday, banging out nine hits with Crowe and Brandon Barnes being the only Astros to go hitless.

Marc Krauss continued his solid series in his home state by going 2-for-4 with a couple more doubles as he continues to battle for a 2014 roster spot. Matt Dominguez also had two hits in the loss.
