TCBP AB 92: Astros Trade Deadline Wrap Up Show
In this episode Sean Feist and myself discuss:
- Astros trade deadline wrap up
- Who we want to see called up
- Chris Carter, Brett Wallace and other futures with the Astros
Astros Trade Deadline Wrap Up
We got Sean's impressions on the moves the Astros made at the non-waiver trade deadline. He, like most other people, thought the Astros did good in the Jose Veras trade, great in the Justin Maxwell trade and unimpressive in the Bud Norris trade. I don't have a problem with the Bud Norris trade I think his value among the fan base got inflated a little bit.
Who We Want To See Get Called Up
This was one of several listener questions in the show. Sean went with Asher Wojciechowski and I went with George Springer. Neither of us thought Springer would be called up before September but we did think Asher has a shot of coming up sometime in August. Jon Singleton is going to have to go bonkers before he gets a call up in September.
Player Future With The Astros
Other listener questions involved certain player futures with the club. Chris Carter is going to be a three true outcome player for the Astros. He's either going to walk, hit a home run or strikeout, but he's also going to be one of the Astros best hitters going forward. We also talked about Brett Wallace and who we would rather have, Chris Johnson or Matt Dominguez.

TCB AMP 12: Hoes in the Pros and Hader's in the Minors
In this episode Brooks Parker Anthony Boyer and myself discuss:
- The newest prospects added to the Astros farm system at the trade deadline
- Describing movement in the minors in one word
- Nicholas Tropeano's one pitch strikeout
New Kids on the Block
Sean and Anthony give some very in-depth analysis on Kyle Smith, LJ Hoes, Josh Hader and Danry Vasquez. I would try to say something else here but they did a really good job on breaking down who the Astros received at the non-waiver trade deadline.
Movement in the Minors in One Word or One Phrase
I think we've discovered a new game for the podcast. In one word or phrase describe the stated promotion. Another topic I would like to write more on but I wouldn't really be doing it justice. Make sure you listen near the end of the podcast.
Nicholas Tropeano's One Pitch Strikeout
Anthony's break down of the one pitch strikeout has gone viral on several sites including, Deadspin, Yahoo! Big League Stew and even ESPN picked up on it Monday morning. If you've yet to see it, it's a pretty interesting event and one that Anthony covered exceptionally well. If you haven't had a chance to go read it.
