Preview
Astros infielders can exhale now, Jimmy Paredes has returned to Oklahoma City. Brad Peacock has taken Paredes' spot on the roster. This will be Peacock's third time with the major league club. He was originally a part of the opening day roster as the number five starter. He was 1-3 with a 8.44 ERA in his five starts, and a 7.04 ERA in four relief appearances.
This season in Oklahoma City, Peacock has a 6 - 2 record with a 2.63 ERA over 13 starts. Over that stretch, he had an impressive 3.45 strikeout-to-walk rate (76 K, 22 BB).
The Astros as a team are batting .218 against the Twins this series, with 30 runners left on base.
Mike Pelfrey gets the start for the Twins today, he has had three quality starts over his last five. In his most recent start, he lasted only four innings against the Royals and gave up four runs. He isn't a strikeout pitcher by any means. Normally Pelfrey keeps the ball on the round, but he currently has a .83 ground ball to fly ball ratio. Brett Wallace and Jason Castro, both have previous at-bats against the Twins right-handers. Castro is 0-for-3, while Wallace is 1-for-3 with two strike outs.
