I'm trying to put together a list of good and bad baseball movies. Feel free to include classics, as well as more obscure titles.
Specifially, I'm looking for baseball movies about baseball, but don't limit yourself. What I mean by that is that Major League and Moneyball are both about front offices building what appears - on the surface - to be lousy baseball teams, but the teams end up winning more games than they're "supposed" to. The difference? Major League is about the lousy team winning the games. Moneyball is about the front office putting the team together.
Bull Durham is about a career journeyman mentoring a young minor league catcher. Open Road is about a minor league player who does a whole lot of not playing in the minor leagues. Trouble With the Curve is about... well, I don't know what Trouble With the Curve is about, because I've never seen Trouble With the Curve. I think it's about a scout. Or a little girl. Or a scout and a little girl. Or maybe I'm thinking of To Kill a Mockingbird.
As I say, though, don't limit yourself to baseball movies about baseball. Anyway. I've now filled up the requisite word count, and I leave it to you fine people.
