Remember back in the dark ages when the Astros had no catching depth? Times have changed in the Astros system, and Garcia has been a surprise. He slashed .304/.348/.419 at Corpus before a promotion to OKC. Over 329 Plate Appearances at AA Garcia only struck out 13.4% of the time. With Max Stassi raking in AA and now getting a taste of the bigs, Carlos Perez needing AAA at bats, and of course Castro the all star, is it a good idea for the Astros to sell high on Garcia? Perhaps a package with Jimmy Paredes, if Paredes has any remaining value. Jimmy P has eternally frustrated Astros fans over the past two seasons, destroying PCL pitching and flaunting his tools. Jimmy has seen time at SS recently in Oklahoma City; although I have no concept of how good he's been at that position, it would seem to raise his value a bit. Maybe with a Garcia-Paredes package, the Astros could add more pitching to the system, or maybe bolster the bullpen at the ML level. I'm not sure what kind of return Luhnow could get. What do y'all think?
