Boegarts, 20, playing for Red Sox. Springer, 23, playing for RedHawks.  Logical??

I've been wanting George Springer to be called up and now, with top prospect, Xander Bogaerts, brought up to the Red Sox, I really want Springer to get called up. Bogaerts is 20 years old and the Red Sox are division leaders, yet, the last place Stros won't call up their top prospect, who's 23. How does that make sense??

Credit, we've called up Villar and Cosart, but Springer, who's turning 24 this year, should be on the club as well. Former fan favorite, Hunter Pence, made his debut at 23.

Say Springer does not get called up this year. Is keeping him in the minors 1 extra month going to make him the next Andrew McCutcheon and prevent him from being another Corey Patterson? I doubt it. However, I do think having Springer up with the Stros for the tail end of the season will benefit him more than hurt him. It will give him an idea of where he stands at the major league level, that way, he can go into the offseason knowing what he needs to improve on for next year.

If the guy is good, he's good. Let him sink or swim at the next level. I'm not asking for the Stros to call up an 18 year older (Carlos Correa) to the bigs. It's not a big deal to call up players at an early age (see Trout, Harper, Heyward, Machado, Jose Fernandez, etc.) these days. Springer's not even that young for god sakes! Let the man play!
