Have we seen the last of promotions within minor league teams? Last year it seems like promotions happened early August (I'm thinking Deshields, Springer, Aplin). I'm not so worried about pitchers, because they've bounced around a fair amount. I'm thinking position players. Last year it seemed there was a "give 'em a taste" mentality.
Duffy and Tucker moved up. Aplin has now been at A+ for over a year. So has Deshields. Will Correa get a taste of Lancaster? How does the prospect of post-season play affect these decision. I don't think it's a bad idea to try to win, or to get somebody an extra week or two of baseball. If I were GM, I'd move up Fontana and Correa today, get them used to the pace of things, knowing that both will also have playoff series. Or will they just keep The Franchise in QC and give him extra rest before the AFL?
On another note, who's putting together the Chris Young facial gift? Go Astros.
