I don't purport to speak for all, but as a lifelong Astros and National League fan, I've followed my team similarly this season to years past (even without the ability to regularly watch games). But the All-Star Game presents a unique conundrum. I've not once in my life rooted for the American League as a unit, and now that the Astros are a part of the AL, I'm torn.
Come to think of it, should the game find Castro catching Yankee Rivera, I can't be sure I wouldn't want to see Rivera fail. In fact, as of this moment I think that's exactly what I'd be hoping for...failure on the part of Rivera. My love of the Astros and my hatred of Selig are crystalline, but the rest of this is fuzzy, and I'm guessing I'm not the only one in this boat. Anyone sorted out a way to make sense of an Astros fan's loyalties with these new realities?
