After watching Hunter Pence make a no-hitter saving diving catch. I got to thinking, he is going to be a free agent at the end of the year. Couldn't the Astros use a veteran right fielder in 2014? Haven't they been talking about signing a player or two for a 2 or 3 year deal? Wouldn't Pence be a good fit for this club? I think that he would be.
With Pence in right. He would add some stability to the Astro outfield. I could see Springer in center and possibly Krauss in left with Pence giving them some experience in right while they wait for Santana, Tucker, and Aplin to develop. Carter should still be around if needed in left and Barnes or Maxwell could still be around as well. Maybe JD Martinez is still in the mix, I don't know.
I think that Pence would be a good fit. My question is this, would the Astros want to do this and how much would it cost? I think that adding Pence would give them an established outfielder who would add victories to the 2014 and maybe 2015 team. Do the Astros want these wins at this point? Does it make sense to resign Hunter Pence?
