RHP Lucas Harrell (4-6, 5.37 ERA / 1.79 WHIP) vs. RHP Chris Tillman (4-2 / 4.26 ERA / 1.37 WHIP)
Astros have a six-game winning streak? This calls for a celebration.
That's enough, we can't celebrate with the team that is currently second in the AL East in town.
Lucas Harrell is on the mound today for the Astros. Harrell ended his personal four-game losing streak with a win over the Rockies in Colorado. He allowed three earned runs over 5 2/3 innings of work. Harrell has seen a dramatic drop in production, which is coinciding with a drop in strikeouts from April (24) to May (11). The same can also be said of Harrell signature GB/FB rate, 2.63 to 1.81 over the two months.
O’s starter Chris Tillman is just happy to be far away from Nats’ third baseman Ryan Zimmerman. In Tillman’s last start, Zimmerman touched up the O’s right-hander for three home runs. Over his past three starts, Tillman has given up eight homeruns, and 12 earned runs. In his favor, Tillman has a 2.59 ERA on the road - almost half of his ERA at home (5.31). Both pitchers will be a new challenge for the majority of each team’s lineup. Carlos Pena is the only Astro with more then a single at-bat against Tillman; he is batting .143 off the righty.
