Justin Maxwell had headaches after returning to lineup. Paredes replaces him.— Brian T. Smith (@ChronAstros) June 30, 2013
Maxwell attempted to make a diving catch on Tuesday (6/25) night vs. St. Louis, which resulted in him crashing into Minute Maid Park's outfield grass. Maxwell left the game and was later diagnosed with a mild concussion. Outside of pitch-running for Brett Wallace on Friday vs. the Angels, Maxwell has not started in a game since the concussion.
Jimmy Paredes has been recalled by the Astros to fill in for Maxwell. This will be Paredes' second stint with the Astros. Paredes was hitting .237 over his last ten starts in Triple A Oklahoma City with four doubles, two homers and seven RBI with a .293 on-base pct. and a .500 slugging pct. (.793 OPS). Paredes was originally in the lineup today, but has since been scratched.
